The project was delivered as a design-build partnership led by Horst Construction, with architecture by Cornerstone Design Architects. Quality Stone Veneer was selected to develop and install a custom exterior stone solution that would seamlessly connect new construction to the historic structure. ### The Challenge The church’s original exterior featured natural 1800's quarried stone that defined its historic character. However, by 2006, that stone was no longer available. The addition required: - Visual continuity with a building over 100 years old - Architectural detailing consistent with historic masonry - A solution that would not appear as a “modern appendage” - Long-term durability appropriate for a community landmark Rather than choose a standard profile, we approached the project the way we approach all meaningful work with our partners — through full customization. ### Our Solution: Regal Ashlar Working closely with ownership and the project team, we hand-casted molds directly from the church’s original natural stone. From that process, we developed a fully custom profile we named **Regal Ashlar**. Our team then artistically developed a proprietary color blend to match the tone, texture, and aging characteristics of the existing façade.  To compliment in stunning detail, a custom color matched, custom designed Siota Precast Architectural accent package was developed and installed alongside our stone by our installation craftsmen. During installation, we also paired the stone with: - A traditional ribbon joint - Careful coursing alignment to mirror the historic elevations Because Quality Stone Veneer served as both manufacturer and installer, we maintained complete quality control — from full product and packaged design, to project estimation, to in-house product manufacturing, to delivery, and our final expert installation on site.
